Five ways to reduce appointment no shows
Jeeva, Founder, EFIQ Solutions · 5 min read
An empty slot is time you cannot sell twice. For clinics, salons and service centers, no shows quietly drain both revenue and staff morale. Here are five ways to bring them down.
1. Track no shows properly
You cannot fix what you do not measure. Mark every visit as booked, completed, cancelled or no show. After a month you will see which days, services and customers miss most.
2. Confirm the booking clearly
Confirm the date, time, service and location at the moment of booking, and repeat it back. Many no shows are simple confusion.
3. Remind people before the visit
A short reminder the day before, and again on the morning of the visit, catches people who forgot.
4. Make cancelling easy
People who cannot cancel easily simply do not turn up. A cancelled slot can be rebooked; a no show cannot.
5. Keep a short waitlist
When someone cancels, fill the slot from a list of customers who wanted an earlier time.
Look at the numbers weekly
Check your daily dashboard every week: bookings today, upcoming visits, completed this week and cancellations. Small changes show up quickly.
